Possible restoration procedures for a work painted on copper:
- Photographic documentation (before, during, and after the work; in grazing, direct, and UV light)
- Consolidation of de-ahdesion between the paint layers and the support
- Treatment of saline efflorescence
- Repair of any cracks or deformations on the support
- Cleaning of the painted surface after testing the solubility of non-original layers
- Filling of gaps with special materials designed for the material and the texture of the paint
- Pictorial retouching with varnish based colors, or with colors with suitable, reversible binder
- Final varnishing
- Study of a conservation solution (climaframe, climabox)
