Description of the operations that can be carried out for the restoration of an antique piece of furniture:

- photographic documentation (before, during and after the intervention)

- restoration and consolidation of the wooden support

- possible reconstruction of missing structural and decorative parts with suitable wood species, in case it is deemed necessary

- cleaning of the surface from grime or old restoration varnishes

- filling of the gaps with appropriate materials

- anti-woodworm treatment with products based on specific biocides

- anti-woodworm treatment in a modified atmosphere

- pictorial retouching with watercolor and varnish colors

- final varnishing with suitable products for the type and era of the piece of furniture

- protective waxing if required
